in an effort to ignore the shit storm that is my life right now I have turned to youtube. (blame [livejournal.com profile] affectingly for linking Backstreet Boys yesterday. I felt a huge wave of nostalgia but they were not my boys.)

JC's voice on the line "at the drop of a coin she comes alive" just DOES THINGS to me OKAY.

- of course that lead to their tribute to Janet Jackson.

yep. still hot. and wasn't this the debut of JC's pretty pretty hair? oh bless.

- and then on to the Grammy awards.

honestly not their best performance ever but notable because it was the last televised performance and that just makes me SAD.

- I love the way the crowd goes nuts when you can hear Lance

the bee gees medley they did at Rock in Rio was much better. but probably far fewer nerves involved as well.

- dear god I remember those screams

seriously I totally loved those medleys they used to do.

- atlantis concert!

performing with and seriously fangirling Tim McGraw. JC YOU ARE SO PRETTY.

- I dare you not to smile. I DARE YOU.

BE MORE ADORABLE BOYS.

GIVE ME YOUR FAVORITE MOMENTS. NSYNC, BACKSTREET, 5IVE (HAHAHHA REMEMBER THEM), ETC. GO NUTS.

first, sorry about the shit storm. *hugs*

second, eeeee nostalgia. i've been doing this a lot myself lately. while i was packing (and packing and packing) to move, it was easiest to just stick my ipod on one artist and not have to think about it for, oh, hours. the sparkly dance boys were one of my choices. i tweeted about them that night more than i probably should have. LOL. and speaking of twitter, lance, joey and chris are all there now, and they're basically a trip. can you even IMAGINE if twitter had existed at the height of their career as a group?? i can't. that fandom was insane enough as it was, and we were primarily operating via message boards, ffs.

omg, rock in rio. i think i watched that a hundred times. in retrospect, we were one hell of a spoiled fandom. they were everywhere, all the time. i have hours and hours and hours of VHS and DVD. sometimes i think of starting a YT channel and just flooding it with old clips. and then i remember i already have no free time.

JC has never been hotter than he was in the .7 seconds they let him sing in that jackson five medley. oh. my. god. and my nostalgia trip has made me realize one thing above all - i miss JC's voice like fucking crazy. i wish he'd put out another album. exhibit A: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kw2wPVxUgQY

know what else i realized in my marathon relisten? that ridiculous story they used to tell during the "blues version" of IWYB on the celebrity tour? still fucking hilarious. LOL. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrgVYVYAhtA) i actually tweeted at lance & joey that night and told them we still want that goddamned DVD. i forget - were you at that orlando show? the ending of IWYB that night was half an hour long, i am not kidding you. LOL. amazing. speaking of that night and the DVD that wasn't, i just found this on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKbV-3hFvGI - my favorite part is how the caption says "Orlando show, footage that Steve took that was to be used for the DVD" ... as if everyone would know who "steve" is... and we all do know. LMAO.

thing what also made me laugh really hard while i was moving, too: the "supersize it" skit from SNL. sadly, i cannot find that online at the moment.

omg, had you ever seen this? http://www.celebuzz.com/joey-fatone-lance-bass-just-s172061/

one more - my pick for "song that benefitted the most from being seen live"... NSA. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MjuF96ByVY

god, i miss them.

I used to have so much footage between VHS and DVD and hours and hours of vid clips and I don't even know what has happened to most of it. which makes me kind of sad.

JC's voice live is just. YES PLEASE. I think because he's gets all growl-y and I love that.

yeah I was at the Orlando show. our seats were pretty crap, but we were there. our seats both times we saw the Celebrity tour weren't very good. but considering we were right on the catwalk for the pop odyssey tour (mmmm JC) I guess it all balances out.

and oh god Steve. hahahah we did all know who he was. and pretty much everyone else related to any of them. it was super weird to live in Orlando during this whole time. we would see family members and it was just. WEIRD.

ahahahahha "supersize it" so hilarious... and I found it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKs1JNmvwLE&feature=related

oh my goodness boys! I was going to say Joey needs to workout, but fuck it he looks happy so who cares. THE JOLA IS ETERNAL. heh.

also the beginning of the pop odyssey tour... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIDWY0PgDl8 hahahahha omg. first the opening with the typewriter and then it flashes to "punk" nsync which was the greatest thing EVER. also. I totally remember seeing a preview of the choreography on mtv and all of us being OMG THOSE MOVES MEAN THEY'RE TAKING SOMETHING OFF! LOL.

I miss them too.
