So. Friends only now. Feels right. There ya go.

Made some changes to the friends list. This always causes me way more stress than is warrented, but that's just me being... well... me.

If I've added you recently and you're wondering 'wtf?' chances are I like your fic, or you posted something funny/interesting/snarky/whatever, or a friend told me you were 'a-okay' or something. So. Hi there.

If I've removed you recently or you've had me friended and I haven't added you back it's nothing personal. Interests change and people move apart, and you know... I don't know why I feel I need to provide a reason. What I'm trying to say is that I'm a very live and let live kind of girl. There ya go.

If you're only here for the fic, I am one half of for_the_road, which is fic only and totally public.

If you're wondering what I'm reading, I am one third of shiny_new_toy, which is recs only and also totally public

Stuff you never asked about, but I'm going to tell you anyway

Fandoms: Started many many many years ago in X-Files and Star Trek: TNG. Moved to Babylon 5 and then to Buffy. Found my way to popslash where I stayed put for quite some time, with only minor forays into Gundam Wing and The West Wing. Began to be lured into Harry Potter (which still pops up and says hello every now and then) before falling head first into LotRPS. And so here I am.

I will often refer to the 'other half of my brain.' That would be ink_stain. You may find yourself convinced that we are dating. You would not be the first person to think this. You would also be wrong.

My inner monologue usually sounds like Bridget Jones. Unless I've been listening to Billy Boyd interviews. Then it sounds like a wee Scottish man.

Speaking of Billy... I want to marry him, move to Scotland and start having his wee hobbit babies. Not necessarily in that order.

Am currently living in the middle of AZ with my parents. Obviously I want to remedy this asap.

I'm almost positive that I'm smarter than I sound in this journal. At least, I hope so.

I don't know or care who the BNFs are in this fandom. I like what I like because I like it. Okay? 'Kay.

Oh. Um. Big Name Fan. (Basically those people who are singled out by the rest of fandom as being "more important" to fandom. I don't know how to explain it, but that some people are BNFs without trying, others try for that status, and all it really accomplishes is great big huge rifts between people. I'm sure there's a better way to explain, but I don't know how.) It's been an issue in other fandoms I've been a part of ... and really only leads to badness, both real and imagined. So yeah. Basically I could have just said that I'm friending people for personal reasons... not because I feel like I should. Does that make sense?

oh it's very 'wtf'? and it's leads to the most ridiculous fights that you've ever seen. and since I came from a fandom where ridiculous fights are a constant, I felt the need to say something about it. (although intellectually I know that every fandom has those fights. but for this one, I will be staying over here on the fringes and won't see that. la la la la la... ooooh look at the pretty boys.)
