re: Obama's speech last night and the resulting fuckwittery - omg all I really want to know is what Rahm had to say when Wilson called. I have never wanted to listen in on a phone conversation SO BAD in my entire life. in things that actually matter... Ted Kennedy's letter had me absolutely sobbing. again. still. *sigh*

please if you somehow haven't seen these links, take a few minutes and read them (warning: if you value your sanity, maybe skip the comments on the first one.) somewhere along the line it seems like many fen have gotten the idea that if an issue doesn't immediately hit them where they live, that it's something they can ignore or dismiss. this is, to put it simply, absolute bullshit. if I were to say the only issues that matter are ones that affect me as a white, middle class, bisexual woman... god. just writing that gives me hives. obviously that is stupid. so I guess I'm just saying to stop and think. and listen. never underestimate the power of just listening.

and now because it's possible to talk about important matters AND squee about the media (MADNESS I KNOW!) I'm going to babble. all thoughts are totally out of order because I tend to watch first and then try to remember the shit that happens. you can imagine how well that works.

so work was unbelievably bad today. I'm basically in trouble for something I don't remember doing about a year and a half ago. YEAH. I mean, I can accept that I fucked up. what I'm having trouble with is the use of degradation and shame as tactics to get me to... I don't even know what they want from me at this point. but whatever. I'm just going to go do my job and go home each day and collect my check every two weeks.
of course the shitty day has strengthened my resolve to drive back down to Phoenix this weekend to either see Star Trek again, or go see Chris Pine shoot things in Carriers. MAYBE BOTH. <3
