lauren made me vote 'preacher'. she says that hellblazer is good, in fact VERY good, but in places. if you start in the wrong place, it'll throw you off forever. preacher on the other hand is filthy and fast-paced all the way through.
also she says: TRANSMETROPOLITAN (http://www.transmetropolitan.com/)!!!! she dances and squees and says it's the best thing ever -- in LIFE, not just comics.
i'm just the messenger, man ;)
me i have no opinion other than SANDMAN WHEE. am one-trick phony too.
Only Hellblazer if it's OLD Hellblazer. The new Vertigo Sux, I think. But then I'm all old-school when it comes to comics. :)
The Authority was a lot of fun, and worth picking up the first couple of trade paperbacks. If you can find Miracleman (A. Moore and N. Gaiman) it's really good, but unfortunately you'll have to borrow rather than buy them because they are currently out of print and really freakin' expensive!
oooh. thanks for the recs. The Authority looks good. and I'll be sure to keep my eyes open for Miracleman because you said the magic word. ('Gaiman') :)
