The parents went to CA for a week to visit the brother and the niece (SO CUTE) and maybe check out a few places for when they get ready to move. My mom was planning on putting out a few feelers on jobs, maybe make a few contacts.
They stayed by the beach at the hotel which is part of the resort that she and I both used to work for years ago. Now. The owners LOVE her. LOVE HER. Everytime we visit, they jokingly ask when she's going to come back.
Y'all see where this is going right?
Now my mother has no interest in running the restaurant again. It's hard sucky work and she just doesn't have it in her to do it again. But she would love to work in the corporate office. She has always wanted to do that.
Yeah.
They not only offered her a job... in the corporate office, but also told her they would cross train her in ALL areas of the property (restaurant she knows so that leaves hotel, catering (which she kinda knows), and shopping plaza, plus corporate-y stuff), her starting salary is only like $2000 less than what she's making right now, they have AMAZING bonuses and gifts and such for the people who prove themselves (which frankly she's already done like a bajillion times over) and oh yeah. Did I mention that they have an APARTMENT ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE BEACH FOR MY PARENTS TO LIVE IN???!!!?!?!?!?!smalldog!!!
Uh. She took the job.
So. Um. They're leaving in two months. Not the planned six months that we had. Um.
I am so screwed.
