you guise I am so emotionally wrung out from watching that. I just. I'm a big loser and I cried a lot and I laughed and I screamed at that damn Guitar Hero commercial with Cook and just. everything.

and then Seacrest made the announcement and I sat all slack-jawed and crying and couldn't think of words anymore than our beloved Word Nerd. And then his mama and brother ("this is your fault!") and holy CRAP when did I become so invested in, not so much this show, but this PERSON. I am so totally blown away by him. I love what Simon said about both of them being such good people. hart.

I spent a good portion of my day surfing the web and just generally slacking off at work reading things about the Davids and I think the most insightful and wonderful thing I read was in the recap of last nights show at TWOP (I know!):

But even if none of us ever see it, I still believe that you can be honestly joyful in the Brooke way without ever getting bipolar about it. So if you take away the neutered, enforced innocence and weird blankness of Archuleta or Jordin, you just have somebody who loves what he does, and wants to move forward into the future and make changes and play around with sounds and make new sounds that nobody ever heard before. I think you can be a bartender who writes crap on his hand and pretends to be a rock star as long as it takes to become one and has a weird melon-shaped head, and cries onstage when it gets to be too big -- you can be that guy and do your crosswords and still be something hopeful, and beautiful, and messy, and good. I think if there's a theme running through his song choices this season it's that, and I'm a fan of that. And I am even more in love with that kind of America, even if this show generally is not.

I'm so ridiculously full of love for pretty much everything right now.
