i am, quite predictably, ass over tea kettle in love with it. there is so much that i love. there are a couple of things that i'm not crazy about, but overall? a+++++ i even geeked out enough to send bf a ridic myspace message. *shakes head* yeah. anyway. if this is what we can expect, i think i'm going to like his album. a lot.

With you on "Light On", though I do wish that we wouldn't try to out-Daughtry the original poseur. (David, Chris turned out to be a galloping ass and is getting sued right now, RE-ROUTE!) My favorite part of the song is when the band settles down and we actually get to hear David.

yeah. I don't like the way the verses blend into the chorus. too hard to sing along to. and it is kinda daughtry-esque, but the song was written by chris cornell and some other dude so... maybe the stuff david actually co-wrote will be a little better? but yeah. still love this song like cupcakes. and yeah, that part where you just hear david and the piano is my fav. so beautiful.

I'm just saying. You can't, um, do the stuff with eyes that you can with mouths. (Oh, I need to check myself into therapy or something.)

Rereading the earlier comment, it really does look like I don't like "Light On" at all, doesn't it? That's not the case, it's been on my iPod all morning. I just think that he's capable of better, as a lyricist, arranger, and singer. Even if this is the mysterious Chris Cornell song, David's vocal performances on "Music of the Night", "Billie Jean", and "Little Sparrow", and his arrangement of "Little Sparrow" at a very minimum, prove that he can do a lot more than follow in Chris Daughtry's dubious footsteps. Though I still understand what Andrew was getting at when he said that it was a good bridge to the CD; I can see where David would want to come out swinging with something very aggressive to shake off MAGIC RAINBOWS.

(Oh, by the way, a couple of teenagers dressed in wee little Mormon outfits came through work a fews ago, and I could not stop staring. One of them looked just like Archie.)

and absolutely he's capable of better. I think some of the songs off of Analog Heart prove that.

(omg I would have been ridic. those outfits that Mormon boys wear when they're out in service? just kill me. which is why when he changed up his tour outfit, I started having the occasional dirty wrong thought about archuleta. *sigh*)
