OMG THAT MOVIE WAS PERFECT! PERFECT!!!!

yeah so I'm not really a Trekker or whatever though I do have a deep and abiding love for ST: TNG but my relationship with TOS is mostly that when I was a little girl I would watch it and I loved Bones and Scotty and even at like age 4 thought Kirk was a skeevy man-whore. although probably not in those exact words. (I loved Scotty so much that I demanded that we name our new dog that. I was 5 at the time. and my parents indulged me and let me name our new german shepard/black lab Scotty. mostly because they drew the line at Bones.) ANYWAY. I've seen all the movies and while I found them enjoyable at the time, I couldn't tell you now what they were really about. Number 2 has Kahn. And I think that might be the same one with that gross things that goes in people's ears. There are whales in number... 4? Number 5 has God and is made of so much lame I can't stand it. Whatever, I've enjoyed Trek in the past but I've never been a fan.

yeah. until now.

the whole cast was PERFECTION.

basically the only reaction that I'm capable of right now is CAPS LOCK and wild flapping of hands. I loved everyone. Chekov as expected was a tiny Russian ball of adorableness. Sulu was pretty badass and damn John Cho has a beautiful smile. Uhura was AWESOME. Her interactions with Kirk were LOLZ and then we get dropped into Uhura/Spock and it was just so obvious that yes of course they would be together. I loved it. Scotty was exactly what I wanted, although I do admit that I want more. BONES!!! I am so in love with Leonard McCoy right now I can't even.

Spock. the casting was perfect, the acting was perfect. Quinto is Spock. the scene with him and Nimoy was great.

congratulations Chris Pine. not only did you make me like James T Kirk, but you made me CARE about him. I cried at the end when he gets his little medal thingy. cause I'm laaaaaame.

uh. yeah. so when's the sequel coming out?

okay. I need to go see that again. and you know. I've been in fandom for over a decade now. I suppose it's about time that I start reading Trek fic. *shakes head in dismay*

the sequel isn't due out until 2011, but I'm pretty sure the cast is signed on for two more at least!
