I think Enterprise is worth it. It only gets awesome during it's final season, but it never truly sucks (except for the finale - but an alternate and more acceptable version is available from pocket books). Shran the andorian (Jeffrey Combs) is awesomeness - Every episode he is in is Win. (Except the finale, which really, really, really bites). Also, Trip = Hot.

Honest... I love the Star Trek franchise... but show me a one series finale that didn't... DS9 nearly made it than the had to ruin it with the last half an hour which destroyed all the anti-war and anti-violence message...

For me the first season of Enterprise is somewhat unwatchable but it picks up in the middle of season 2 and holds...

and yes Trip is quite hot... I like the one with him as the clone...

Sorry to completely hijack Reg's post, but I don't think that DS9 was anti-war or anti-violence at all. Quite the opposite, in fact.

sorry, I only meant only the finale... in the finale when they refused to drink with General Martok because the destruction of a civilization was not something to celebrate **facepalm** you are right... I'm sorry... being glib when I should not have been...

Ah, right, I'd forgotten about that part. Which is so true, because, for 7 seasons, it was a show that celebrated terrorist tactics as a good thing (from the Bajorans to the Ma'quis to the Federation itself fighting the Dominion), so that was a bit of a cop-out.

But then, I also hated the montages at the end because they couldn't legally show any of Terry Farrell's footage, so we got nothing of Jadzia.

yeah I started downloading season 1 last night. when I left for work this morning it was at 30% so I'm hoping it will be close to done tonight.

I've seen pictures of Trip, so I'm gonna have to agree! :D

heeeee. okay well I started the download last night. I do love Sam BeckettScott Bakula and Star Trek, so it has at least those things going for it. :D

stupid good fanfic writers getting me interested in the characters before I've seen the source material. *shakes tiny ineffectual fist*

Enterprise is the only Trek series I never bothered to watch, and I still feel like a disloyal Trekkie for it. I do remember when Scott Bakula used to film on the Paramount lot, though. He's a nice guy. *g*

see I suck as a Trekkie. I watched TNG religiously and started watching DS9 and then I don't know what happened. well, yes I do. I got out of college and moved back home and didn't have tv for awhile and this before it was easy to find tv shows online. so yeah. I have an excuse... just kind of a lame one. Voyager I watched the first couple of episodes. I likes 7 of 9 before they made her pretty. and the hot first officer. and um. oh yeah the hot engineering chick. I am so god damned shallow! ANYWAY.

all of which is to say that it makes me happy that Scott Bakula is nice. :D

Omg, Reg, you have GOT to correct this egregious DS9 oversight. BEST. TREK. EVER. And I say this as a geekgirl that loved TOS & TNG & even Voyager (although I hated what they did with Chakotay something fierce).

Deep Space Nine will always be the gold standard of Trek. Especially after the Dominion War started. Go forth, Netflix it, do it. Forget Enterprise, man, I mean, Max is a great writer & I love her Pike/Archer series, but you don't need to watch Enterprise to enjoy the awesome of her fics.

You NEED to watch DS9. *nods*

excellent! I've seen bits here and there when the tv has been on for background noise, but I have no idea who any of the characters are other than Archer. so yay new tv show. just what I need in the fall with all the other new tv I'm watching. *shakes head*
