today? yeah. you can repeat days like this.

still riding high from dfc last night. still don't have the energy to recap it. ;p

had dinner tonight at the restaurant that is catering our christmas employee appreciation party and OH. MY. GOD. I'm a little worried that this food is going to be wasted on the hot wings and beer crowd that I work with (not that hot wings and beer aren't awesome.) but this food. GOD. we met with the chef (some day I will post about how every chef I've ever known has the same basic personality and how it all comes down to you have to be a little bit of a douche to really cut it in that world) and he basically will do anything we ask. he was appropriately appalled when the woman I was with suggested the aforementioned hot wings. I nixed that idea because seriously this is not the kind of venue for that kind of food. one of the meals I sampled was a 10 oz pork porterhouse with triple sec marinated sun-dried cherry sauce. I WANT TO MARRY THIS PIECE OF PORK. except I can't because it's currently in my belly. we also sampled a beef dish and a salmon dish and he gave us some ideas for chicken and vegetarian. we have to somehow narrow it down to only two choices which is going to be VERY HARD. and then there was also appetizers (seared ahi and mussels SO GOOD OMG) and then dessert which. they have this one which is a white chocolate mousse/cake thing with passion fruit and holy crap! I'm going to cheat on that pork dish with this dessert. I was kind of wary of being on the planning committee for this party but now I'm SO HAPPY OMG. FOOOOOOOOOOOOD.

then I rolled my fat and happy self home and watched last night's SYTYCD.

- Noelle and Russell - I liked it more than the judges did, but I can see what they were talking about. And I pretty much always agree with what Adam says.
- Jakob and Ashleigh - holy crap that was gorgeous! I love Jakob! and he totally looks like Anton Yelchin, so I've been amusing myself with thoughts of Chekov dancing. that's right! it all comes back to Star Trek!
- Bianca and Victor - honestly I couldn't concentrate on the dance because that song from The Color Purple makes me cry my eyes out! the whole time all I could think was "see daddy, sinners have soul too." but again I agreed with Adam because it looked more like they were just doing steps rather than going to town like that piece demanded. (and fuck I just started crying again watching that clip and my eyes sting.)
- Mollee and Nathan - they're adorablecakes. I actually prefer the Joshua/Katee and even the Jason/whatsherface routines from days of old, but this was still good. but yeah. adorable.
- Phillip and Channing - oh man. that was kind of painful to watch. the lifts were just so awkward.
- Karen and Kevin - or you know Karen and that guy she dances with. holy hell. also Adam has found his 'exception to the rule' with Karen. someone write me pegging fic with them. YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO! anyway, here is my very technical dance review: SHE'S SO HOT HOLY SHIT. ;)
- Kathryn and Legacy - omg that was beautiful. neither of them is my favorite dancer, but they're definitely up there for my favorite pairing.
- Peter and Pauline - I feel like whoever gets Wade already has an advantage. sort of like getting Mia. like sure you work your ass off, but the piece is going to be good. I love this. of course I generally love most of Wade's work so... but yeah. and I like the pairing. good stuff.
- Ryan and Ellenore - I LOVE THEM. LOOOOOOVE. and holy crap that was fantastic. and frankly it just goes to show how good it was I didn't even notice that her dress was caught. damn! also I really need to comment how last week while they were getting the comments from the judges, her hand started out on his belly and got progressively lower until I swear it was going to get indecent right there onstage. ahahahha. I love Ellenore! and you know this request was coming... how about some Ashleigh/Ryan/Ellenore! y/y?

Completely agree with the eliminations, but I would have liked a little more explanation on why they kept Victor and let Phillip go. (Perhaps they sensed that I would CUT THEM.) I liked Bianca, but her solo was just bizarre ('Tootsie Roll?' really?) and Noelle's solo kicked a lot of ass. so YAY SHOW ILU!

and now I need to read some of the 9 bajillion fic tabs I have open right now. oh startrekbigbang. ♥

Ashleigh still freaks the hell out of me. I don't know what it is, but she really makes my skin crawl. Which is a shame, because she's doing some good dancing and is clearly popular with the judges.

I LOVED Kathryn and Legacy. I thought she was really going to annoy me, but they make a great couple. And Ellenore. OMG. O.M.G.
