yeah I'm pretty sure that I can't narrow it down to just one
♥ - Bridget Jones's Diary:
Tom: Well done Bridge, four hours of careful cooking and a feast of blue soup, omelette and marmalade. I think that deserves a toast, don't you? To Bridget, who cannot cook, but who we love... just as she is
Tom, Shazzer, Jude: To Bridget, just as she is.
and the look that Mark gives Bridget right at that moment. I've pretty much been waiting my whole life to have someone look at me like that. it's like she's the answer to everything inside him and it quite obviously makes me into a gigantic sap.
plus you know. Colin Firth.
♥ - Beyond Borders:
Nick Callahan: If I could live this life again, I would never leave you for a second.
okay this might be an odd choice because he does leave her but god this whole scene. they finally FINALLY sleep together and give in to all the sexual tension that's been there since the moment they met and then he leaves the next morning. partly because he's scared and partly because it's actually the right thing to do. and she's crying and he kisses her one last time and his big hands are holding her face and just. *sigh*
(um this is all after some truly AWFUL acting by Angelina. she's really quite good in the rest of the movie but my god the part right before the sexy tiems is painful. also? Clive Owen? knows how to kiss)
♥ - Playing By Heart"
Meredith: I don't deal with passion well.
Trent: Maybe you don't like that loss of control. You prefer to be the director, telling everyone what to do.
Meredith: It's pretty painfully obvious, isn't it.
Trent: Somewhat painful, yes... You know there's something to find out about me.
Meredith: What's that?
Trent: That I take direction pretty well.
it would have been easy to pick any of the scenes with Keenan and Joan ("I can't stop thinking about you." "I love conversations that start with the guy saying...'l can't stop thinking about you.' Mind you, I've never actually been on the receiving end of any of those conversations.") but my favorite couple in this movie has always been Meredith and Trent. a lot of it has to do with the general adorableness that is Jon Stewart.
♥ - Love Actually:
Mark and his flash cards to tell Juliet that he loves her.
really I could have just said the whole movie.
♥ - Sliding Doors:
[Helen drops her earring in the lift. James picks it up and gives it to her]
Helen: [gloomily] Thank you.
James: Cheer up, you know what the Monty Pythons always say...
Helen: "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition"
[Helen and James turn and stare at each other as the lift closes]
this movie just kills me and that scene most of all. it's perfect.
it was really pretty tempting to list when Jim Kirk and Leonard McCoy meet. I'm just sayin'.

and agreed. the older sister's story is just kind of annoying. lady you're married to Dennis Quaid, who yeah is strangely awkward but you're not really making an effort. meh. but the other story lines are filled with so much awesome that it mostly just cancels her out. :)
