*the bottom three is absolutely who it should be. well you could throw Katie in there too. ALTHOUGH SENDING TIM BACK TO SAFETY? NOOOOOOOOOO.
*Ke$ha what the fuck? headdress and "war" paint? that is not ok. also... there seemed to be a lot of vitriol aimed towards her on my flist prior that idiocy. I know nothing about her so is she a douchenozzle? (please don't just tell me her music sucks. I actually really like that damn Tik Tok song.)
*Lacey going home is fine. I would have preferred Paige. actually I would have preferred Tim because you know. HE SUCKS.

- I've typed out like half a dozen things about "Telephone" and how I think a lot of feminist bloggers are way off the mark and how I think things are being read into the vid that are not there, but everything seems like an invite for wank and I don't want that. all I really want to say is that I really really like it.

- I managed to forget about Justified starting this week. le sigh. I'll download it from somewhere but I just love the way my brain can be all 'YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYYAY... what?' when it comes to things I'm interested in.

- finished Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. so fun! am definitely hitting the bookstore this weekend to pick up the next one.

- am so so glad tomorrow is Friday. it's been a really long week. meh.

by the time I got to Ris's entry that made some actual sense to me, I was so brain dead that I couldn't even comment. what I find really annoying has been the 'oh you stupid stupid girl let me tell you all the ways in which you are wrong' feeling I've been getting from the majority of the blogs I read. and these are written by other women! UGH. (come on she's using diet coke cans as curlers!)

I know right?? I mean, some women have latent self-loathing issues as well, and I think for some people, seeing Gaga being so brazen and so HER is like "omg she is scary so scary must pull out all of my feminist academia theories and ideals to debunk her and put her back in her place"

yeah. I think that is exactly what is going on here. the one argument that I just have to side step is the possibly trans guards. I didn't read it as them being trans at all, but if trans people are and are offended by it, then they know a hell of a lot more than I do so. I can't really enter that discussion at all. which is fine. it gives me something to think about and a different view on the vid.

but the whole thing with the asian woman is that I had originally thought it interesting that she was not thinking in english and then I start reading the critiques that this is just WRONG. which. what? I find it ridiculous to assume that every person in a roadside diner would be thinking in the same language. a japanese person thinking in japanese? HORROR!

So my DVR broke and I didn't get to watch ANY BIT of the Idol this week, I'm so freaking BUMMED. It WOULD happen the week that DFC was going to be on. That bastard. I am also fine with Lacey going home.

And oh man, I love the Percy Jackson books! I started reading them after I saw the movie, because I was like "huh, this story makes no sense, I wonder if it makes sense in the books..." TOTALLY DID. I'm on the 4th one now. :)

DFC will be back for Idol Gives Back. he's going to Africa so I expect many tears. both mine and his. :)

I got paid today so tomorrow I'm hitting the bookstore. yay new book series to love! <3
