- holy crap this dancer from the Twyla Tharp show is incredible. okay both of them are great, but (yes I went an looked up her name) Karine Plantadit.
- Melinda's solo was good, but tap which I'm not a huge fan of but I did like the little James Brown move in there.
- Alexie was good, but I don't think she gave it all she's got.
- ballroom solos always make me sad because you know... not really meant for solos! but work it baby!

- 5'9" according to imdb. and then with the heels... okay. and Usher is only 5'8"? (although imdb hilariously lists him as 5' 8 1/2")

Kent is pretty much making this season for me, because I was disappointed when they didn't go for the tall soccer playing looking dude, and then I was sad that they didn't go for the guy with the hurt leg which was totally on the mend, and then it was a top ten instead of a top twenty, blah blah blah. But his "aw shucks" utter ADORABLENESS makes up for a lot.

I knew before I actually watched it that three girls were in the bottom three, and I'm really disappointed in America for that. Adéchiké did not dance as well as Cristina last night, and imo should have been the one in the bottom three.

Of the three I would have sent Melinda home too.

It is sooooo true. Nigel has a boner for tappers. I think tapping is fine, if you wanna do it, but it shouldn't be done in public where people have to watch. Srsly. I wanted Melinda out as well. I hope the judges put their money where their mouths are and HIRE the poor girl for something!!!

I liked the tharp gal, but I found the performance of the male off-putting. I guess he was trying for a sinatra vibe, but it seemed a bit brutal and even misogynistic to me... I guess he was meant to be "life" and she was striving on through it, but if the gender identifications had been highlighted less it would have made me more comfortable.

the thing about Melinda is I think her tapping is fine. the problem is she seems like a soulless robot. A CRITIQUE THAT NIGEL GAVE. *sigh* and yeah. Adam I am looking at you. put her in some kind of featured dance role your next crazy movie has.

yes. I noticed that as well and the only thing that saved it for me were her facial expressions. she seemed to welcome him so that eased a little of his performance for me. and I'm not sure if maybe we're missing anything by watching the dance outside the context of the whole show. idk. all I know is that I could not get over her strength because god DAMN.
