Name me a character in one of my fandoms, and I will tell you:

* How I feel about this character
* All the people I ship romantically with this character
* My non-romantic OTP for this character
* My unpopular opinion about this character
* One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

Leonard McCoy!

1. I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT LEONARD MCCOY. A LOT. like how I love him. and how he may not be the perfect man, but he's a good man. and he's a great doctor. and he feels everything but keeps it inside for better or worse. how he's frustrating and stubborn and so damn honorable. he is may faaaaaaavorite.

2. well the big one is obvs McCoy/Kirk, but then there is also McCoy/Chapel which is SO GREAT. and that might be it. OH. HIS WIFE. I REALLY LIKE JOCELYN.

3. McCoy and Spock as antagonistic BFF. also I like the idea of McCoy and Gaila being friends. Her wacky optimism against his grumbling nature.

4. um. maybe that I like Leonard/Jocelyn. actually I don't think it's that unpopular.

5. I would really love to actually see interaction with his daughter. we all assume (okay I assume) he's a good, if absent father and that he tries, but I would like to see it. everything. the awkwardness. the frustration at not having her around. the way he absolutely and fiercely loves her. I AM A SUCKER FOR THIS OKAY. (please to be seeing current H50 obsession.)

Jim Kirk!

1. JIM KIRK IS AWESOME OK. and yeah. there are things about him that maybe aren't so great. he's stupidly headstrong and as McCoy will tell you rushes in without always thinking things through. but he's also got the devil's own luck so things tend to turn out okay. he's smart and quick and loyal and really someone you want on your side.

2. Kirk/McCoy. DUH. and then ladies. Jim + ladies is good times. I love him with Chapel, Rand, Gaila, Number One, girl!McCoy. there is one glaring exception though. Nyota.

3. and that's because I like Jim and Nyota as friends. just friends. and then of course Jim and Spock. if you want to talk original series then yes, Jim and Spock in a romantic sense is fine (although I'm more of a Trio girl in TOS) but in reboot they are JUST FRIENDS. and it takes a while to get to that point.

4. are there unpopular opinions about Jim? that he's not in love with Spock I guess. or maybe that he has a good relationship with his mom. is it perfect? no. but it's there.

5. Carol Marcus please! since I doubt canon will ever give me hot captain on cmo action. so yes. Carol! and make her really sassy.

Marge Simpson!

1. MARGE SIMPSON IS PURE UNADULTERATED AWESOME. it's easy to write her off, to not understand how she can stay with someone like Homer, but dear god the love she has in her. FOR EVERYONE. and not just when it's easy. I uh. really like Marge.

2. Homer. because they're soul mates. also Manjula but only in certain circumstances. and Ruth Powers

3. my very favorite non-romantic relationship is Marge and Lisa. they're so different and so alike and just. family stuff makes me cry and Marge and Lisa are just. yes.

4. unpopular opinions? ABOUT MARGE??? uh. well I think she's smart and awesome. BUT THAT'S POPULAR RIGHT!

5. I just want Marge to be happy. so whatever accomplishes that.

hahahah OLD SCHOOL.

1. Spike is hard to like. Because yes he's hot and snarky and fun and I mentioned hot right? but that doesn't change the fact he tried to rape Buffy. and he does good after that yeah, he saves the world (we'll just ignore that it's not quite the sacrifice it seemed at the time) but do those good deeds negate what he did before? and does the matter of whether he had a soul make any difference? honestly? I don't know. it's weird because it makes the just a bad guy version of Spike easier to like because yes he raped and killed a hundred plus years but we didn't see it. we didn't see him lash out at someone he claimed to love. we saw someone who kept hatching crazy schemes against Buffy that would never work. we saw him devoted to his clearly crazy girlfriend. we saw him kill yes, but that was always his objective. there wasn't any question. it's all very confusing!

2. Buffy. which again makes me feel icky but. ultimately I don't think she can be with someone "normal." also even though I never saw all of Angel Season 5, Spike/Angel fills the trope of bicker like an old married couple that I do so love.

3. Dawn. I love the way he cared for her. and yes you could say that he did it just for Buffy, and I think it was that in the beginning, but I think that it became genuine.

4. oh god. well to the redemptionists I guess that I can't forgive him for the attempted rape is unpopular. also I don't think he was ever pure evil, but that's just shoddy mythology building by the show. clearly all vampires are not pure demon.

5. there's a panel in one of the season 8 comics where Buffy is having a dream about both Angel and Spike. YES PLEASE.
