on one hand, sooooooooooooo many. so so many. on the other I feel little to no guilt. I was born in 1970 so my formative years were spent listening to AM radio and my parents 8-track player. oooh yeah. you know all those time-life music collections? I effing love them. like I will sit here and watch those damn infomercials and think about how to obtain all those songs without paying those ridiculous prices. (ultimately I am too lazy to search out all those songs but that's another issue.)
anyway if it's cheesy, I probably like it. (unless it's Kokomo. worst fucking song ever.) anyway here are three of the songs that I knew how to sing at a young age and still love. the first is Helen Reddy - Delta Dawn. I would love her again when I was a little older when she starred in Disney's Pete's Dragon but this song. I was belting this song out when I was 5. (bonus this vid has Sly Stone introducing her. awe. some. guys the 70s were kinda rad.)
'cause she walks downtown with her suitcase in her hand / lookin' for a mysterious dark-haired man
NEIL FUCKING DIAMOND. the end. (I watched his version of The Jazz Singer every time it came on HBO when I was growing up, which was a lot. I didn't understand most of the movie when I was a kid but he sang and that's all I cared about.) and dude I'm having a hell of a time picking a song because they are all so awesome.
ain't nothing there that I care to take along / maybe a song
and okay. here is the real guilty please. Barry Manilow - Mandy. like I legit love him. my mom and I keep talking about going to see his show in Vegas. god help us if we ever get the money.
tears are in my mind and nothing is rhyming
ahahhahaha I would be more concerned with all of you thinking I'm a total dork if I wasn't completely sure that you all know that already. ♥
bonus: best cover of Mandy? I think so.

(and by "ruined", i mean in the same way he's ruined my entire life.) speaking of which, the other night, i randomly dug out the video of him seeing your tattoo in vegas. turns out there's no statute of limitations on the awesomeness of said video. ♥ ♥
