- Comment to this post, and I will list seven things I want you to talk about. They might make sense or they might be totally random.

Then post that list, with your commentary, to your journal. Other people can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.

questions from [livejournal.com profile] seren_ccd.

1. Your top five OTPs/Friendships (film/tv). (I chose to pick the top 5 of the moment because I don't think I could do top 5 of all time. nope. too hard.)
♦ Sherlock/John - OH GOD SHERLOCK AND JOHN. and I know the arguments, they're a terrible fucked up unhealthy codependent mess and I DON'T CARE. because sometimes life is like that and your most significant relationship might not be the healthiest in the world, or more importantly might not seem healthy to outside yes but if those in it get something out of it then that's something else isn't it. I MIGHT BE PROJECTING. anyway. John so steadfastly loyal and Sherlock is so CLEARLY IN LOVE and has no idea what to do with all his feels. and frankly John pretty in love as well just in MASSIVE DENIAL. and while most of my feelings are for the BBC version, the movies are just as ridiculous and from what I can tell the old series and original novels are filled with the same. TRUE LOVE.

♦ Kirk/McCoy - speaking of potentially unhealthy codependent relationships. they're best friends and they need each other, although it will probably take some dire circumstances for either of them to admit that. and I pair both of them with other characters (mostly Kirk/Rand and McCoy/Chapel) but even then their friendship is such a major part of the story.

♦ Danny/Steve - there might be a theme here. it's true that I love ships where the two particpants are just totally tangled up in one another. where they fill in the spaces the other didn't know were empty. plus, and this goes for the above two as well... BANTER. witty verbal sparring is sometimes better than sex, or best when a lead up to sex. also you get daddy!Danny and step-Steve which just makes me melt into a puddle.

♦ Loki/Darcy - again I can pair either them with others, but something always brings me back to this pair. I love Loki being the only one not to underestimate Darcy. I love Darcy being able to bring out that side of Loki that's always been there, but that he tries so hard to keep hidden. I love that it's wrong and doomed and beautiful.

♦ Lestrade/Molly - oh new pairing of my heart. Molly Hooper is like the secret core of strength to the side of the angels and Lestrade. oh god. just. I can't even speak remotely coherently about these two. they're just perfection on the cusp of happening and ugh.

2. Where would you most like to visit in the world?
just one place? New Zealand. there are other places I'd like to go... Ireland comes to mind. Costa Rica looks lovely. but really New Zealand is where I truly want to go.

3. What do you consider sexy or attractive in anyone?
oh it's so cliche but, sense of humor. someone who is funny will attract me faster than anything. well. okay hot waiter at the burger place attracted me by being fine as hell. I have a thing for noses. slightly large, reallly straight noses. um. intelligence for sure. and relatedly, competency. I like hands and feet and smiles and eyes. freckles. wit and snark but always with a core of kindness.

4. Your top five fandom crushes at the moment.

♥ MARTIN FUCKING FREEMAN
♥ Benedict Cumberbatch
♥ Kat Dennings
♥ Tom Hiddleston
♥ Jeremy Renner

5. If you could be any occupation in the world, what would it be?
in complete fantasy world given that I have absolutely no training and no discernable talent? an actress. I quite like the idea of putting on a character for a time and then taking it off again when I'm done. I do think I could be good at that aspect of it. that might actually point to me being a sociopath. oops. :) in the real world? I'd like to own a book store/comic book store

6. Is there a book/show/film that has stuck with you since you were a kid?
there are tons of movies that have stuck with me. I'm pretty sure my fear of sharks can be traced to watching Jaws when I was much too young. I think I still measure up potential boyfriends against Disney's version of Robin Hood. (potential girlfriends get measured against a living breathing individual and will probably always come up short. hi I'm going to be single forever.) as for books, I first read the Narnia books when I was around 9 or 10 and I still love them. The Last Unicorn (film) is still one of the most beautiful and scariest things I've ever seen. and while I didn't read Tolkien until I was an adult, the animated versions of both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings have always been favorites. one of the first "grown up" films I ever saw in the theater was Grease. I was 8. I wanted to be Rizzo. (I still want that.)

7. Top five favorite bands.
UGH THIS IS HARD. also I really tend to listen to solo artists more than bands.
♪ The Beatles - this feels like cheating.
♪ Duran Duran - always and forever.
♪ Matchbox 20 - DON'T JUDGE ME.
♪ Panic at the Disco - see above.
♪ Coldplay - because reasons.

- I have had this open in a tab all day and I don't think it's getting closed any time soon: absolutely gorgeous animation of John/Sherlock. there's a link at the site to a b/w verion as well which is just as, if not even more, beautiful. my heart.

1. Star Trek, even though I think I'm done with that fandom. Never had the urge to return. Thanks to that fandom, though, I discovered message boards and LJ.

2. The Librarian. I don't believe I have ever seen fanfic or icons for it.

3. One that I wrote for The Addams Family, for Yuletide one year. It turned out well, since I managed to get Wednesday Addams' personality right.

4. I have no idea.

5. The Seven Per Cent Solution, by Nicholas Meyer. The Dracula Tape, by Fred Saberhagen. Good Omens, by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. The Firm, by John Grisham--just because I'd like to read that one again when I'm not deathly ill and unable to remember what went on. And, perhaps, a book on how to survive and get off that desert island once I've finished reading.

6. I've never been on a vacation in my life. Maybe the Sherlock Holmes Museum in England for a few minutes.

7. Maybe the one for Doctor Who before a few universal reboots, since I'm relatively certain I would be slaughtered a few minutes into living in the Buffyverse.
