I have done nothing today but nap, read fic and watch bad television. it's been glorious.

Sherlock is looking at her with what she's sure other people would consider a stoic expression, but she can see the panic in his eyes. She tries to smile but it feels wrong. She can feel tears starting but before she can swipe them away, Sherlock brings one hand up and gently sweeps them away with the pad of his thumb.

"He would surprise you like that. Scare you." There's no question and Molly doesn't bother trying to deny it. Trying to lie to Sherlock Holmes never works.

"Yes," her voice comes out stronger than she's expecting and it sounds too loud in her small living room. She winces slightly. "Yes," she repeats, sagging back onto the sofa. Sherlock follows and sits next to her. He still hasn't let go of her hands.
